Newbie
Well I am new to this board first time here. Well lets see I finally got my day for the surgery after waiting a few days. My process didn't take long maybe about a couple of weeks cause I already had everything ready for my doctor. Like the nutritionist evaluation and psychological evaluation. So I had my first appt Dec 4 and by Dec 17 they had the approval from my insurance. The bad thing was I was a little anemic so they wanted me to start taking iron pills. But the good thing was that i had a doctors appt with my primary doctor on the 29 and she checked it and I was good to go. So i was just waiting for my day. I called them to see what was happening on the 5th and they were already scheduling it with the hospital. And I had this funny feeling that I would be getting a call from them today. And sure enough they did. I am now scheduled for the 27 of Jan. Yay!!!! I am so ready!
Thank you so very much. Man this is an awesome place. I have never in my life met a group of people that could just support and understand you. Without really knowing you. I really really like that. I have a few friends that know and they are supportive and so is my husband and family. But that's family. I have come across co-workers and others whom have been so negative about me even thinking about doing this. So I decided to exclude them from my thoughts, fears and joy about doing this. No so much fear more like nervousness. And one day I came across this and since then I just feel like....any questions, concerns, etc. I could jot it down and someone who's been through it or known of someone that has will be there to help me. Thanks everyone for being such cool people.
I'm just getting started on this as well. I really hope the process for me is as quick as yours! My first visit with the surgeon is next Wednesday. All of my medical records are over there, but I haven't visited a NUT or psychologist yet. Not sure when I'll be doing that. Guess I'll find out more Wednesday. I agree with how wonderful this website is. I've found so many answers and have learned what to expect...basically sounds like the first 2 weeks are horrible and then the next 2 weeks are getting better. After the first month, much better unless complications occur. I'm so happy for you! By now you are probably on the other side. I hope you are feeling well and losing lots!
Well....so far so good. Everything went good. Thank You. I was a little surprised the day of surgery cause I thought I would be having it lap but as I am signing the consent forms it states "Open" my mouth flew wide open and practically hit the floor. But I sucked it up and decided that I wouldn't let something like that change my mind and went through with it. It wasn't as bad I thought it was going to be. My incision is only about 2 inches in length. The only bad thing was that my doctor placed a drain to the left of the incision so I've had that since my surgery and probably won't have it removed till the 24th. So living with this drain has been hell. It hangs and sags more than my freaking boobs. But oh well soon it will be out. And I will be FREE FREE as A bird. I can't wait! Well I hope everything goes smoothly for you. Good luck. So far I've lost 15 pounds. At first I didn't think it was possible I kept thinking my scale was off. But I have been able to fit into clothes that I couldn't even bring past my thighs. So maybe it is right. It just seems too unreal. But if you look at me you wouldn't think i've lost 15 pounds. Well see you on the losers bench real soon!
